This was the memorial for the amazing Nikolay Timofeev. He was a world champion aerobatic pilot and coach for the US aerobatic team, and a great friend. His family were nice enough to ask if we could play some music, including the Swan Lake Overture that he used in his aerobatic ballet style performance at airshows. My son, Kevin agreed to come over and play, based on our phone call and email sketches of an arrangement. I’m very glad to have been able to play there with Kevin, and honored to be part of the memorial by his incredibly talented family. As usual, I proudly watched Kevin handle the more difficult parts!
